One of the main features in our recent TinyMCE 4.4 update was the introduction of the new InLite theme, which gives our content creators a lightweight in-line editing option. The InLite theme contains two pieces of InLite-only functionality: QuickImage and QuickLink.
FYI: QuickImage requires the “Insert Image” button to be enabled on the insertion toolbar. For QuickLink, we recommend that the Link button is enabled on the selection toolbar.
Both of these buttons are enabled by default.
Now—onto the good stuff!
With the InLite theme enabled, clicking on an empty line will display the insertion toolbar.
Clicking on the Insert Image button will allow you to browse to, select and insert any locally-stored image into the editor.
You can find more information on how to configure this image handling here and Enterprise customers can also contact us through support for further assistance.
If you copy a URL to your clipboard, select text in your editor and hit ‘paste,’ TinyMCE will automatically hyperlink the selected text and the URL that is on your clipboard.
Nice and easy.
If you then need to edit or remove your hyperlink, you can select the hyperlinked text and click on the Link button in the selection toolbar, opening the Link dialog.
So that’s QuickImage and QuickLink. Remember that these are only available when the InLite theme is enabled.
