Ephox has been working closely with IBM to provide additional capabilities to IBM Web Content Manager users in this latest release of WebRadar.
WebRadar version 4.0 introduces virtual portal support. Virtual portals are a capability of IBM WebSphere Portal that enables multiple logical portals to share the same WebSphere Portal Server hardware and software installation. With this latest release, WebRadar reports are now limited to content items belonging to the selected virtual portals.
WebRadar began life as a separate product offering from Ephox, but now WebRadar 4 is available from IBM as a fully supported feature via the IBM Collaboration Solutions Catalog on Greenhouse as a free entitlement to all current IBM Web Content Manager customers operating version 126.96.36.199 and above.
What is WebRadar? WebRadar is a reporting solution designed specifically for IBM Web Content Manager. It provides a simple and flexible interface for creating custom reports; a customizable dashboard for running and viewing reports and a multi-edit engine to enable bulk updates of content metadata. Using WebRadar, customers can automate content reports and use analytics to improve the web content production process.
Virtual portal support is now available out-of-the-box. When you load WebRadar in a virtual portal, you are only going to see content that belongs to that particular virtual portal. For those installing WebRadar, take note that this feature takes zero extra installation configuration. Create a database, specify its details in a config file, run the install/upgrade shell or bash script and we’ll do the rest.
