We’ve worked for much of the past year to understand the needs and wishes of the TinyMCE Community. During this process, we found a few common themes. First, the need for fast, reliable help. Second, the need for high-quality resources to make your life easier while you work. With that said, we’re excited to announce our new Community hub. Here’s a quick functional tour.
This is the place where you can ask and answer questions about TinyMCE. We will moderate community activity here, working to make sure all questions receive a helpful response. The forum will also be a place for conversation about the work you have done, or would like help with, on your TinyMCE project.
By the way, we will reward regular users of the forum with points and badges! You will be able to redeem these for fun (or functional) prizes.
The ‘Ideas’ section will replace our existing feature request platform in GitHub. (Please note this is not for any bug fixes—which are still at GitHub). Any thoughts you have on improvements to or new features for TinyMCE will live here.
We’re going to use a basic process to keep popular ideas in action. You’ll vote for the ideas you like, and as they progress through the tagging function in our ideation system. This is your chance to talk straight to the product team and get what you want.
We encourage you to use this section for direct communication with our team. Tell us what you want from TinyMCE, and from us also. We work hard to provide you with a high-quality product, but we know we aren’t perfect. This is your chance to tell us how we can be better. You can talk to us a feature request, new idea for communication channels, new content you wish you could see, or content you’re interested in. We want to hear from you!
This is where you can rack up points and start accruing masses of swag and cool forum-cred. It’ll also organize your activities so you can keep tabs on what you’ve posted and responded to. It will also help you keep track of where your ideas are in the “ideas cycle”.
As mentioned, you will win badges once you get enough points, which you can cash in for fun prizes (or functional) prizes. Don’t see any prizes you like? Tell us and we’ll try to make it happen. Get a few questions, answers and ideas behind you and you’ll be amazed by how many points you’ve racked up.
So that’s about it for now. Join today and take a peek around. We’d love to hear what you think about your new Community hub, or anything else you care to share.
Welcome 🙂 We look forward to hearing from you!
