We are excited to release new, structured pricing that we believe will help more businesses benefit from the advanced features and services created by the Ephox and TinyMCE merger.
Double the packages, one simplified experience
We have doubled our available packages while at the same time simplifying the buying options for developers and businesses whose requirements don’t have the same demands of larger enterprises.
You will now find TinyMCE Basic and Pro plans added to our comprehensive Enterprise offering and the free Community Edition. The new Basic and Pro subscription plans can be purchased online without you ever needing to speak with one of our salespeople. Which doesn’t mean we won’t contact you to make sure everything is going well—we definitely want you to be successful with TinyMCE!
Jeff Olson, Ephox’s SVP Sales, Marketing & Business Development, who joined the company six months ago, immediately saw the need to help so many of our customers who found themselves somewhere between the free Community and high-touch, paid Enterprise plans.

A move to subscription with even more flexibility
The availability of two new plan options isn’t the only exciting change for our customers. The Basic and Pro plans are released on a subscription basis and customers can now lock-in a discount by paying for the year in advance, including access to plugin upgrades during the subscription period. Of course, those who prefer to pay monthly can still do so at the subscription’s full rate.
Helping you choose the right plan
With four purchase options available you now have more choices. So, which one is right for you? There is no correct answer as everyone’s requirements are different, but there are some notable differences between the offerings.
The Community Edition is the free, open source version. It’s the same one developers around the world have had access to for a decade (and yes, it continues to get better and better every year). But it doesn’t include the advanced, professional content creation extras available in the other plans or modification of the LGPL license and the obligation required of developers as a result.
The Basic Plan is, basically, an a la carte model where you get to choose the plugins you require for your project. Excitingly, MoxieManager Standard is available in the Basic Plan as a paid add-on.
Note that support for the core editor is not available in this plan, but your plugin purchases are. The Basic Plan assumes you already have TinyMCE installed and that you want to add TinyMCE’s advanced content creation features to an existing tinymce instance. If you require support for the core editor, the Pro Plan is the better option.
Moving on from the pick-and-choose of the Basic Plan, the Pro Plan includes all available plugins, including MoxieManager Standard, plus support for the core editor. You can also upgrade to MoxieManager Professional for an additional monthly charge. Plugin highlights include:

- Accessibility Checker
- MoxieManager Standard
The Pro Plan is bundled with the TinyMCE core editor (unlike the Basic Plan which assumes you already have the TinyMCE editor deployed).
Our Enterprise solution hasn’t changed significantly, other than we now provide MoxieManager Professional to new customers (along with all currently available plugins of course). Enterprise pricing provides the greatest flexibility and support including default escalation, flexible licensing and dedicated, US-based customer support.
A big year since the Ephox + TinyMCE merger
Over the past 12-months, Ephox has delivered many new features to TinyMCE, including image editing, while improving advanced content creation solutions such as our leading Word copy/paste and accessibility checking technology. We have doubled the available pricing plans, simplified the buying experience and added payment flexibility.
