Accessibility Checking As-You-Type with Inline Reporting

New accessibility check as-you-type functionality makes compliance with web accessibility standards as easy as spell checking a document. Business users receive immediate, visual feedback when they create non-compliant content. The inline accessibility reporting functionality works with accessibility check as-you-type enabling business users to get information on compliance issues in the content without even opening a dialog. In addition, accessibility configuration and reporting options enable content administrators to customize EditLive!'s accessibility checking functionality to match the compliance requirements of their organization.

Table Accessibility Checking

table accessibilty EditLive! 6.7 takes the pain out of creating accessible tables. Creating accessible tables is one of the most complex areas of accessibility compliance. EditLive! removes that complexity and guarantees that content contributors are able to make any table accessible.

Broken Hyperlink Checker

Prevent the publication of broken links to your web site with the new Broken Hyperlink Report. This report will check all the hyperlinks in a document and verify that they link to live web pages, whether the links are internal or external to your site.

Open Word Documents in EditLive!

EditLive! has always been recognized as the industry leader in the import of content from Microsoft^® Word. Now with EditLive! 6.7 users can import Word documents into EditLive! directly, without having to copy and paste content. This is currently only available on Microsoft^® Windows operating systems.

EditLive!'s download size has been reduced by almost 70% resulting in faster download and startup times.

Improved Table Toolbar

EditLive! now includes an inline table toolbar. The toolbar is visible whenever the cursor is located within a table. Any of EditLive!'s interface commands can be placed on this toolbar.

Improved XHTML Standards Compliance

Clearer distinction between semantic markup and formatting
Makes use of CSS properties instead of deprecated HTML attributes
All markup created within EditLive! will comply with the XHTML 1.0 Strict and XHTML 1.1 standards
The Insert Bookmark function has been improved to use the ID attribute

Improved Accessibility Support

Improved table accessibility ensures that trained users are able to create tables that are compliant with accessibility standards. The Table Properties and Cell Properties dialogs have been updated to enable users to enter values for attributes and elements associated with accessibility standards.
Improved accessibility functionality, including enhanced support for accessing the EditLive! applet with the keyboard and screen readers. Users can now "tab" into and out of EditLive! using the Ctrl+Tab key combination on Windows and the Alt+Tab key combination on Mac OS X.
