Role based customization

Different authors need different interfaces, features and styles.  In some cases it is better to limit the choice of features and formatting options for certain user groups. EditLive! can be set up to support multiple customizations for individual users, groups or sites.

Interface

Extend, customize or remove each element of the interface: dialogs, toolbar buttons, drop-down lists or menus.

HTML tags

Specify custom tags and associated commands, dialogs and rendering for integration within any Web application.

Styles and formats

EditLive! automatically adapts to your style sheet.  Style options appear in a WYSIWYG drop down.  To ensure that content complies with site styles Administrators can control which styles (e.g. fonts, colors, headings and paragraph styles) are available to different user groups.  Users will waste less time altering formatting and administrators will waste less time controlling style compliance for each user.

Color Palette Customization

New color palette configuration options enable you to administer the use of colors throughout EditLive! to ensure  they match your site’s design. With a single configuration you can now control colors for tables, highlight, text colors and horizontal rules.

Control

Centralized deployment and control

Deployment is seamless and rapid  for even the largest enterprise systems.  Changes to configuration, style sheets and the interface are automatically propagated to all users. EditLive!'s JavaScript Integration Framework delivers a consistent cross-platform API which is all that is required to run EditLive! in a web application. The API will run on any web application server and delivers platform independent implementations in as little as 5 lines of code.

Advanced extensions

Extend EditLive! with your own Java classes, JavaScript functions, Java Macros and other extensions.  Incorporate custom Java dialogs and element rendering. A comprehensive reference and tutorials are included for over 200 API functions.  

Change Detection

Administrators can determine if a document has been changed in any way.

Security

As a Web tier client, EditLive! does not compromise your security and is infinitely scalable.  EditLive! preserves server and script code like ASP, JSP and PHP and supports key authentication architectures including Basic, Digest and NTLM Authentication.
