Summary

This article outlines how to remove the EditLive! client software and the EditLive! SDK from a PC. These instructions are relevant whether you are using a registered version of EditLive! or simply trialling EditLive! using the 30 day trial period. This article also outlines how to unregister EditLive! on a PC so that the license may be reassigned to another user or reassigned after upgrading a PC's operating system.

Removing EditLive! Registration Information

If you are using a registered version of EditLive! on a standard seat license which you wish to remove from one PC in order to reassign the license to another user or to upgrade the current PC's operating system please follow the instructions below before removing the EditLive! software from the PC.

Once this registration information has been removed from the PC in question please follow the instructions for removing the EditLive! client.

1. Download the EditLive! Deactivate License executable from here.
2. Unzip and run the executable on the PC from which you wish to remove the EditLive! registration information.
3. You will be presented with a dialog box that prompts you for your EditLive! registration details. Enter your Account-ID and Domain into the necessary fields.
4. Make sure that the radio button marked Ephox Server is checked and click Deactivate.

This will contact the Ephox Registration Server and release the current license so that it may be reissued. It will also remove the EditLive! registration information from the PC.

Again, once this registration information has been removed from the PC in question please follow the instructions for removing the EditLive! client.

Removing the EditLive! Client

1. From the Windows Start menu select Settings and then Control Panel.
2. In the Control panel double-click Add/Remove Programs to start this application.
3. Scroll down the list of programs and the Ephox EditLive! Client listing.
4. Click the Add/Remove button to start the uninstall process.
5. On the first uninstall screen ensure that the Automatic radio button is selected and click Next.
6. Click Next and Finish on the following screen.

The EditLive! client will now have been uninstalled.

If you are unable to find the Ephox EditLive! Client listing in this program, the client will have been installed automatically from within the browser. In this instance to remove the EditLive! client:

1. Open Windows Explorer.
2. Locate the Downloaded Program Files folder.  This folder is located in the Windows folder.
3. In this folder right-click on the file EphoxEditLive4.EditLive to access the shortcut menu and select Remove.
4. Confirm that you wish to remove these program files permanently.

The EditLive! client will now have been uninstalled.

Removing the EditLive! SDK

1. From the Windows Start menu select Settings and then Control Panel.
2. In the Control panel double-click Add/Remove Programs to start this application.
3. Scroll down the list of programs and the Ephox EditLive! SDK listing.
4. Click the Add/Remove button to start the uninstall process.
5. On the first uninstall screen ensure that the Automatic radio button is selected and click Next.
6. Click Next and Finish on the following screen.

The EditLive! SDK will now have been uninstalled.
